Indian American musician Vidya Vox has officially released her latest album called Kuthu Fire. She integrates her South Asian heritage with her experience as an American to create unique beats. She explains to Billboard that she created this niche for herself because she needed “to find a harmony between the two” separate lives that she was living. One at home, and one at school.
She discovered this side of her in college where she was pursuing a career in medicine.However, after collaborating with fellow YouTube musician Shankar Tucker, she realized that her true passion was music. Two years after graduating college, she went to launch her own YouTube channel that helped her build a fan following of about 3.3 million.
Billboard furthers, that this coming fall she will doing an international tour starting in South Africa. She will be including some of the mashups from her youtube channel, but she will be predominantly using original music! The tour will even go to India and Mauritius, where a significant portion of her fan base is.
