Now Sony Music is rewarding her with her own music deal.
The American songwriter, rapper and recording artist has signed with Sony Music India. The company is confident her sound will resonate with not only Indian audiences, but audiences internationally as well.
“Raja Kumari’s music has a unique blend of western and Indian influences,” said Sony India’s pop lead, Rohan Jha. “Her global music sensibilities and song writing will resonate equally with the Indian as well as International audiences. We feel we have an exceptional artist on board, as we are sure she will enthrall music fans across the globe.”
The California native says she has her sights set high.
“I believe this is just the beginning of my journey in the motherland and I know that together we will create some amazing music for the people worldwide. I will make history,” she said.
Her first Song Change Your Life for Iggy Azealia was nominated for a Grammy in 2015. She’s also written six songs for Gwen Stefani’s album, This is What the Truth Feels Like. The album debut number one on Billboard’s Top 200 chart in 2016.
“I have always wanted my music to be the bridge between East and West,” she said. “I want to push my South Asian profile forward worldwide.”
