Michelle Yeoh’s character, Captain Philippa Georgiou, may have been killed off in season 1 of Star Trek Discovery, but in Hollywood, they can do anything.

CBS released a video this week about her return  as Emperor Georgiou.

Yeoh talked about her transformation in this video released by You Tube. Warning: the trailer does include some spoilers, as does this article.

“She if formidable. She is scary,” Yeoh said about her new character. “When you explore these characters, you found many subtexts and layers in them. They’re not just evil. They are what they are because of the environment of the situation they are faced.”

According to Inverse.com, Yeoh’s return as an evil version of herself reminiscent of the fourth ever episode of the original Star Trek when Captain Kirk emerged from his good self in a mirror universe.

Yeoh’s return had been foreshadowed by many Trekkies. All indications before the season were that Yeoh would have a major role. The death of Captain Philippe Georgiou shocked some fans while intriguing others about the possibilities.

Star Trek Discovery is available on CBS All Access.

(Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story may have incorrectly given the impression her return was forthcoming. Emperor Georgiou was actually introduced two weeks ago. We apologize for the error)
