Accused Takes Stand in Wrongful Death Suit of Billionaire’s Girlfriend

Rebecca ZahauThe man who says he discovered the body of Rebecca Zahau in his brother’s San Diego mansion vehemently denied he had anything to do with her death, reports the San Diego Union Tribune.

“I was never in the house… I never hit Rebecca on the head or anywhere else… I never tied her up. … Most certainly not,” testified Adam Shacknai whose been sued by Zahau’s family for wrongful death.

According to CBS8, Shacknai found Zahau naked, bound and hanging from the second floor balcony of Jonah Shacknai, her boyfriend and Adam’s brother

Just days earlier, Johah’s son was gravely injured in an accident at the home while in Zahau’s care. He would later die.

Adam said he had a good relationship with Rebecca, describing it as “cordial” and “friendly.”
 

The trial is expected to last several days.

Zahau’s death has officially been ruled a suicide.
