UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is set to speak at the University of Houston today two days after engaging in an intense debate over Twitter with a student there.
Nikki Haley thinks walking out of a security council meeting before a Palestinian representative speaks is not one-sided.
Nikki Haley thinks massacring unarmed protesters is justified. There are NOT two sides to GENOCIDE…
Yet she sides with the perpetrators. #CancelNikkiatUH https://t.co/VcyARPO7la— Mohamad (@The_Black_Camel) May 20, 2018

Mohamad’s tweet was retweeted by the University of Houston chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. Haley, however, did not back down.
In response, she tweeted:
It’s a shame you think that. I am very open minded and thoughtful in everything I do. You may not agree with me but to think I’m one side is inaccurate. I hope to meet you at some point.

The back and forth between Haley and the UH Student eventually prompted other twitter users to join the debate. Some questioned why she walked out of the security council meeting in the first place. Haley stated in her defense that she did not walk out in disrespect, but walked out because there were other meetings she had to attend to.
Did you think to ask why I walked out?Bc we allotted for two hours for the meeting as we do for all SC mtgs. This one went over. I didn’t walk out on the Palestinian. I left after all Security Council members spoke. I didn’t hear the Palestinian or the Israeli. I had other mtgs.

A recent article on Politico asserts Haley’s use of Twitter has already raised questions concerning protocol.
Could this encounter with a college student add to that scrutiny?
