Dozens of fans came out to Comic-Con in San Diego in support of Star Wars character, Rose Tico.
The Star Wars heroine played by Kelly Marie Tran has been the target of vicious attacks on social media from trolls not happy with an Asian American playing such a prominent role in Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
Tran is the first woman of color to be cast in a major role in the mega-franchise.
The rally outside Comic-Con was put on by Nerds of Color, an online publication dedicated to all things sci-fi and fantasy.
The rally was lead by a half dozen cosplayers who did a pretty good job playing homage to Tran.

Tran deleted her Instagram account back in June rather than be subjected to online bullying and harassment.
Saturday’s rally caught the attention of longtime journalist Soledad O’Brien, who retweeted a post about the rally and simply commented, “This is Amazing.”

No other than Mark Hamill also through his support to the action at Comic-Con. Now how cool is that?
