Sports Reporter Apologizes for Racist Tweets

Lindsey OK
Facebook

Sports reporter Lindsey OK has apologized “to anyone who may have been offended” by a series of racist tweets in 2010 and 2011 against Asians, Blacks and gays.

The tweets were uncovered and reported by Blacksports Online.

OK, who is a contributor on Ravenswire.com, took to Twitter to respond to the story and the subsequent outrage.

She said the tweets were “taken out of context” and do not “reflect my personality, my beliefs or the way I think and carry myself. I am truly sorry for anyone who may have been offended by those tweets.”

She acknowledges being dumb, young and unaware, but not racist or homophobic.

275 people liked her apology, but not everyone was buying it.

Some on Twitter called on Raven Wire to fire her. Others said she has already been fired.

Her tweets made stereotypical jokes about Asians and used racial slurs against Blacks and gays. In one tweet uncovered by Raw Story, one post read “Help Me There’s Asians Everywhere.”

  1. RE: Sports Reporter Apologizes for Racist Tweet: The standard non apology of the unrepentant. They’re sorry you have a problem not that they did something wrong.
