Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee has been honored by the Directors Guild of America, reports Focus Taiwan.
Lee is best known for his three Academy Award-winning films, Brokeback Mountain, Life of Pi, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

“Thank you for your support. There’s nothing like approval from your peers … I’m very, very touched,” Lee said as he received the honor.
“I will continue to do my best to create those images and stories. I think making movies is the most wonderful thing in the world. That’s the way I learned about myself. I learned about the world I live in,” Lee said.
The DGA honored Lee Thursday in New York for his contributions to the film industry and American culture through film and television.
“There is nowhere more fitting to celebrate the confluence of entertainment, labor and politics than New York, our cultural epicenter,” said DGA president Thomas Schlamme to Shoot Online. “It’s where a legendary director like Ang Lee, as a budding Taiwanese filmmaker, came to get started.
