Police in Las Vegas are still trying to identify a suspect who ran over a nail salon manager and killed her in a dispute over $35.
Witnesses say Nhu “Annie” Nguyen chased after a customer who ran out of the salon and drove away-apparently trying to skip out on paying the bill.
“She and I both ran outside to stop her after her credit card had been declined and she was trying to drive away,” Nguyen’s partner, Sonny Chung said to the Daily Beast. “But she continued to drive toward my wife. I tried to stop the car with my hands but she just kept moving.”
Witnesses said the car dragged Nguyen for some 50 feet.
“She kept pushing the gas, and my wife fell off, and she kept pushing more, and she dragged her from here to over there,” Chung told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The 53-year-old mother of three is also a grandmother of two.
“Annie was also such a kind and hardworking person. We are all devastated this happened to her,” said a neighbor who witnessed the incident, but requested to remain anonymous.
