New data released by the California Civic Engagement Project showed a substantial increase in the turnout among California’s Asian American voters along with young people and Latinos compared to 2014, reports NBC News.
The California Civic Engagement Project is part of the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. On Tuesday, it released a fact sheet entitled, “California’s Latino and Asian-American Vote: November 2018 General Election.” The sheet highlighted the participation of Asian American and Latino voters in 2018’s midterm elections compared to 2014.
In an election where California saw its highest voter turnout since 1982, according to KTLA, the USC factsheet reports Asian American turnout at 33% of eligible voters, up from 18.4% in 2014.
