The grandmother brutally attacked during a purse snatching in Seattle is speaking about the incident and relieved the suspect is in custody.
Mei Mei Yeung, 68, spoke to KOMO News, while her son-in-law, Kevin Lo, translated.
“She still feels shocked that it happened so close to home in a quiet neighborhood,” he said.
“At that one point in the video she’s like, ‘please stop, I’ll give you whatever.’ She felt helpless essentially at that point,” said Lo.
Q13 reported Friday that police caught up with the suspect after a high speed chase. The beating caught on video left Yeung bruised from neck to knee.
The 40 second confrontation which seemed like an eternity ended with the thief making off with her necklace. rings and purse.
“It’s just hard and heartbreaking for me to watch the video,” said her daughter Helen Ho to KOMO. “Especially when she was yelling and screaming for help and nobody can hear.”
