The dance rock band The Slants have announced a new foundation to aid activist Asian Americans as one of the projects they have planned after they officially end touring in November.
AsAmNews recently caught up with Simon Tan of the Slants to talk about his projects post tour which include an effort to help budding Asian American musical artists, a Broadway musical and fundraising scholarships for activist artists. He also talks about the landmark Supreme Court case where they successfully argued they should be allowed to keep their name in spite of the pejorative associated. But first, he talks about the book he just released. Yes, he’s busy!
Simon’s podcasts are available at this website and on Spotify https://simontam.org/tag/podcast/
