Actress Gabrielle Union will produce and star in Chester Tam’s currently untitled romantic comedy. Tam based the story upon his own romantic endeavors, a relationship between a newly single African American woman and recently divorced Asian American man.
This news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Screen Gems film company has picked up the script and will oversee the production of the film. Union and Tam will be co-producing this film along with Holly Shakoor-Fleischer and Trevor Engelson, according to Deadline. Union and Tam have been developing this script for more than a year.
Tam is known to have written, directed and starred in Netflix’s Take the 10. He will also be portraying the male lead in this upcoming romantic-comedy film.
Union is famously known for her role in Universal’s crime thriller Breaking In and Spectrum’s series LA’s Finest with Jessica Alba, which was picked up for a second season.
