Hudson Yang marked the final day of shooting for Fresh Off the Boat with a moving tweet Friday night.
The 16-year old who plays Eddie Huang posted several photos on Twitter including one in which he is clearly crying while being hugged by executive producer Melvin Mar.
“It’s a wrap. I’m not afraid to say I cried,” the young actor declared
Hudson’s father Jeff Yang also remarked on Twitter that he would miss the show.
Fresh off the Boat debutted in 2015 as the first television show centered around an Asian American family in twenty years. It’s clearly a groundbreaker and is credited for paving the way for other shows including Crazy Rich Asians.
It’s final episode after six seasons will air February 21. The special hour long episode will be directed by Randall Park who is making his directorial debut, reported Yahoo.
“I am so thrilled to be directing the series finale of Fresh Off The Boat. This show, aside from being hilarious and full of heart from beginning to end, has provided so many opportunities for so many of us,” Park told Good Morning America. “And the fact that they’ve bestowed me with the honor of making my TV directorial debut for our final episode is yet another reason why I’m eternally grateful for this groundbreaking series.”
A spinoff that could feature Hudson is in development. Magic Motor Inn would center around an Indian American family whose daughter goes to school with Eddie. It reportedly will star You Tube star Vir Das and actress Preity G. Zinta.
