Vigil held for Shuo Zeng in laptop killing

Tears flowed and emotions ran high at a vigil in Oakland, California Sunday for a man who died trying to recover his stolen laptop, reported ABC7 News.

Shuo Zeng died when he was dragged trying to stop a getaway car after thieves made off with his computer from a Starbucks.

Two suspects in the case, Byron Reed Jr, 22, and Javon Lee, 21; are due in court this morning for an arraignment.

Shuo’s cousin Jennie flew in from the East Coast for the vigil. She said she considered him an older brother.

Michelle Munson is co-founder of Espira where Zhou worked. She told NBC Bay Area that Zhou was a scholar and a wonderful contributor to the company.

“He was widely read. A true polymath and physics PhD and he just contributed to every group he was in,” she said.
