American gymnast Morgan Hurd took a big step towards the Olympics this weekend by winning the American Cup.
The Chinese adoptee from Middleton, Delaware competed with no falls during her four routines and no significant errors, reported NBC Sports.
No athlete has ever won the American Cup without making the Olympic team. This is Hurd’s second American Cup title.
It’s somewhat of a comeback for Hurd who was forced to sit out the 2019 World Championship after being left off the team.
“The message I guess I’m sending myself and the world is just, it’s not over until it’s over,” she told NBC. “I feel at my greatest I’ve ever been.”
