A nurse in San Francisco says a White man spit on him and called him a “g**k” as he tried to deliver prescriptions to a family shut in by the stay at home order.
Kyle Navarro says he’s a school nurse. He says the entire staff has been delivering groceries and medicine to students and their families.
Stunned, Navarro says he was comforted by a “lola” which is Tagalog for a grandmother.
“To the Lola who asked how I was, I let you know. You have no idea how much I needed that. “
Navarro also went on Twitter to acknowledge Black, Brown, queer and trans have been experiencing the same hatred for ages.
He also encouraged other Asian Americans to call out racism when they see it.
He also asked people to donate to Filipino Advocates for Justice in San Francisco which is dedicated to immigrant and civil rights.
