Actor Rishi Kapoor, who has 160 film credits to his name died after a two year battle with leukemia on Thursday, reports MSN.
Among those honoring his lost is fellow Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra.
“My heart is so heavy,” she said on Instagram. “This is the end of an era. #Rishisir your candid heart and immeasurable talent will never be encountered again. Such a privilege to have known you even a little bit. My condolences to Neetu maam, Ridhima, Ranbir and the rest of the family. Rest in peace Sir.”
Kapoor comes from four generations of entertainers, including his father, Raj Kapoor who has been dubbed ‘the showman of Indian cinema.
Rishi broke out in 1973 as a teen heart throb in Bobby. He also made an onscreen pairing with actress Neetu Singh, who he eventually married in 1980, according to Yahoo.
“He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears,” his family said in a statement about his death.
