Awkwafina will join a host of celebrities headed by Oprah Winfrey for a virtual graduation to honor the class of 2020.
Both Facebook and Instagram will carry the event, #Graduation2020, live at 2pm Eastern/11 Pacific today, Friday, according to AVN.
Also joining in the festivities will be Jennifer Garner, Lil Nas X, Simone Biles, Miley Cyrus and a few more surprises.
Also today, UCLA announced that alumnus George Takei will join the University for its virtual graduation, on June 12. Takei had been asked to be the commencement speaker prior to the pandemic, reported the Daily Bruin.
A second in-person graduation will be announced at a later date. A previous announcement that the graduation would move online sparked a backlash from some graduates who don’t want to miss out on a party.
