Rapper China Mac met yesterday with the now 90-year-old grandma set on fire by two men in New York on July 14.
He posted a photo on his Instagram page with her and others who are organizing a rally Saturday to demand justice in the case.
“Protect The Elders✊,” he wrote on Instagram.
The 89-Year-Old Grandma sends her love and blessings. She says that if her legs were in better shape she would rally and march with us🗣💯##theycantburnusall #proudaftobeasian.”
The meeting took place at the Homecrest Community Services, a senior citizens center in Brooklyn.
Little is known publicly about her nor has her name publicly been released. She skillfully put out the fire by stamping it out against the wall using her survival skills. She reads 3 newspapers a day.
She is encouraging everyone to march to stop the hate and the violence against Asians and all races. This will be the second such rally organized by China Mac.
William Lex Ham, a political activist who helped organize the two rallies said “We met with Grandma and she’s a powerful benevolent human being!, he wrote on Facebook. With all of the social unrest, (grandma )reading the news about #JusticeForGeorge and #BlackLivesMatter, she was encouraged to STAND UP and FIGHT BACK!!!
“When she went to report her hate crime at the precinct… NYPD told her to go home and call 911,” he continued.
“Grandma wants us to continue standing up for Asians and don’t stop!!! She wants us to sign the petition and keep applying pressure on our elected officials!
She said that if her body allowed… she would be marching with us”
The rally will take place this Saturday August 15 at 3pm at Washington Square Park in New York.
