Campaign launched to stop rise of White Supremacists and anti-Asian racism

By Louis Chan, AsAmNews National Correspondent

It was just this past June when flyers were posted accusing Chinese Americans of destroying the Bay Ridge neighborhood of South Brooklyn.

The flyers blamed deteriorating conditions, the rise of prostitution and dirty unsanitary restaurants all on the Chinese community.

In response, a new group has formed. Take Out Racism is a collective of anonymous Asian scholars, artists and designers.

They spent the weekend putting up posters calling for the end of racism. Not everyone appreciated their efforts.

“There is a LOT of racial tension and aggression in Bay Ridge right now,” the group told AsAmNews. “We were accosted multiple times by people on the street and people were tearing down our posters as we were putting them up.”

The group is vowing to “sustain attention on the White supremacist groups operating in the Bay Ridge area.”
