As the saying goes, “all good things must come to an end” and fans on Tuesday received the devastating news of Netflix cancelling the popular news-comedy show, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.
The former Daily Show correspondent took to social media saying, “what a run. @patriotact has come to an end.”
The show ran six seasons, starting in October 2018 and tackled a variety of topics affecting people in the United States such as Journalism and the latest George Floyd protests as well as global issues like Indian Elections. In 2019, Patriot Act received an Emmy for Outstanding Motion Design and a Peabody Award. That same year, Minhaj was named Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.
And while Minhaj’s tweet announcing the cancellation seemed to strike a melancholic tone, fans on social media seemed to be shocked and disappointed.
