Fashion model and celebrity Kimora Lee Simmons says the raised profile of people of Asian and Black descent will bring the two communities together.
Simmons spoke on Ozy’s Carlos Watson Show about such high profile Blasians as Kamala Lee Harris, Naomi Osaka and Tiger Woods.
“I know for a fact that we are able to do that,” she said. “I know a lot of Blasians that you just named and we’re very dynamic and very capable. If you just look right there at how well that all mixes together. We’re dynamic, we’re in all walks of life, business and politics, and absolutely I think that Kamala represents the future, which is what in a odd was said about me when I was younger.
“Even though were talking about politics and mine was fashion, it was like yes, she was the face of the future.”
Lee Simmons began modeling at age 14. She married entrepreneur and record producer Russell Simmons.
Her mother is an adopted korea-born Japanese lady. Her father is African American.
