Police today released photos of four suspects accused of beating an Asian woman on the subway because she didn’t wear a mask.
The New York Daily News reports six people hurled racial slurs at the woman near the station in Greenwich Village.
The paper reported the group blamed Asians for the coronavirus and then repeatedly punched her before taking off.
WNBC reports the 32-year old victim sustained bruising and suffered substantial pain. Police designated the incident a hate crime and assigned it to its hate crime task force.
According to the Daily News, at least three of the suspects are women including one who wore a camouflage jacket with a fur-trimmed hood and a fake fur head wrap. A male suspect wore a orange hoodie and red mask.
