A new film on Netflix featuring Priyanka Chopra and Sung Kang quickly rose to the number 1 spot on the streaming platform this week.
We Can be Heroes debuted on Christmas Day from director Robert Rodriguez. The sequel follows his 2005 film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl and evolves around the children of the world’s greatest superheroes.
“What a great way to start New Year’s Eve and end this year. Thank you all for watching #wecanbeheroes and enjoying it! Thx for the goodies,” Chopra shared on Instagram.
Chopra plays a villain in the children’s film. Kang plays the father of Slo Mo as played by Dylan Henry Lau.
“Got to hang out with this awesome young man @dylanhenrylau while shooting @wecanbeheroesmovie – You’re a total pro Dylan.Proud I got to play your pops. You are a shining star! Everyone that meets you loves you,” Kang posted.
According to CBR, Lau and the other children set out to save their parents who have been captured by alien invaders. CBR calls it the year’s best superhero film. Mary Sue calls it family fun. The movie gets a 70% on the critics Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes and just a 54% audience score.
