Son arrested in double murder of parents

Authorities in West Virginia believe a son may have used an axe to bludgeon his parents to death, reports West Virginia Metro News.

Takanao Kambara has been charged in the bludgeoning death of his parents, Tsukasa and Claudette Kambara.

According to WCHS-TV, Kanawha County Sheriff Deputies responded to calls that Takanao had been piling paintings across the street from the home.

When they arrived, the suspect, 26, told a deputy “there were two dead bodies inside the house … they did not die naturally,” the sheriff’s office told Policereporter.com.

WCHS reports court records indicate the couple was murdered in their bed and that the suspect’s father died while asleep. He is a local artist and his wife sold flowers.

Investigators are trying to determine if an axe found at the scene might have been the murder weapon.

The suspect told detectives a chip placed in his head made him do things he couldn’t control. Neighbors say there is an alleged history of domestic violence by the son toward the parents.

“We have had some domestic situations at that location in the past,” Kanawha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford said to Metro News. “We’re still working on that.”
