Asian American solidarity is critical as we near the first anniversary of the pandemic.
While the targeting of Chinese Americans by racists during the coronavirius spiked with the coronavirus, Filipinos, Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese and Hmong have been hit with the spillover.
After 9/11, Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi Americans faced increased bigotry and discrimination. Japanese Americans, still feeling the sting of the incarceration camps during World War II, were among the first to speak out in their defense.
Now social influencer Vishal Singh is returning the favor, calling out a racist in Los Angeles caught intimidating an Asian woman with F bombs and calling her a “stupid blue haired Asian girl.”
He can be seen imposing his large body on her as he approached her in a harassing manner with his two dogs.
The woman backs slowly away before the video cuts off.
