A family outing to a Phoenix Suns game with 10 and 4-year-old children turned ugly when an unruly fan threw a beer bottle towards them.

Fox10 reports the person who threw the bottle also allegedly yelled profanities at the Asian American family.

The CEO of the Asian American Chamber of Commerce Vicente Reid first reported on the incident on Twitter.

“It was completely unprovoked,” Reid said to the Arizona Republic. “He was with his two young kids, and hears some guy shout ‘(expletive) Asians’ and he gets hit with a beer bottle.”

Reid who says he’s friends with the father described the family as “traumatized.”

Fox10 reports the Phoenix Suns pledged to work with police to find the perpetrator.

“Discrimination and hate crimes of any nature are not tolerated,” the Suns said on Twitter.
