Police have arrested a California man accused of stabbing a mother and her 8-year-old daughter, KIRO7 reports.
Authorities identified Jacob Alan Wright, 19, as a suspect in the deaths of Jia Jia, 44, and Ruby Meng, 8, after a five-week investigation, according to KTLA. The investigation was aided by the FBI.
Jia and Meng were found stabbed to death in their Rancho Cucamonga home on March 7. A 38-year-old woman was also injured when she was stabbed at the home, KIRO7 reports.
Investigators believe Wright entered the residence early in the morning and stabbed all three victims in the bedroom. They say Wright has no relationship to the victims, so a motive remains unclear.
Police arrested Wright after a traffic stop on April 13. They interviewed him and acquired a warrant to search his home for evidence. Wright is currently being held in jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder without bail.
