Asian man stabbed 5 times walking home from work

From Twitter

USPS worker Chiling Lee was stabbed five times in the head, chest, stomach and hands and robbed of his backpack while walking home from work in Bayview, San Francisco, ABC7 reports. He suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung but has since stabilized.

Lee was discharged from the hospital earlier this week, according to an update on a GoFundMe page organized by his wife, Dong.

According to Lee, the incident happened very quickly. The attacker came up to Lee and demanded money before stabbing him multiple times and fleeing with his backpack.

Dong said that if the knife were any bigger, Lee would not have survived.

The Lee family told ABC7 that they are considering moving out of Bayview, but are hoping to save enough money for a car first so that they no longer have to walk or take public transportation to work.

As of now, the police believe there was no racial motivation behind the attack.
