Authorities have arrested and charged a Brooklyn woman in connection with slapping and harassing an Asian woman, PIX11 reports.
Police arrested Cheyenne Taylor, 29, on Tuesday, according to New York Daily News. She now faces charges of aggravated assault as a hate crime.
Taylor allegedly slapped a 25-year-old Asian woman outside of an ice cream shop on Grand St. near Forsythe St. by Chinatown. Authorities say Taylor approached the woman on April 7 around 7:30 p.m and made anti-Asian statements.
“I don’t want you talking! Shut the f— up!” the woman allegedly screamed, according to New York Daily News. “Go back to where you came from! Go back to your country!”
Taylor allegedly then slapped the victim and ran away. Police obtained security footage that captured the incident.
