Karen Fukuhara, best known for her role of Kimiko in The Boys, received the IMDb Fan Favorite STARmeter Award on May 15. This award recognizes the most popular stars according to IMDbPro’s STARmeter rankings, MovieWeb reports.

Rachel Brosnahan, Peter Dinklage, Mindy Kaling, Olivia Munn, Sam Rockwell, Alexander Skarsgård and Olivia Wilde have previously received this award, Market Screener reports.

Fukuhara accepted the award during this year’s virtual Identity Festival which celebrates Asian American Pacific Islander heritage month annually. Identity Festival features many different performances from the AAPI community in an effort to raise money towards Pacific Bridge Arts’ scholarship programs.

Upon acceptance, Fukuhara gave honorary mentions to AAPI actors such as Ming-Na Wen, Ken Watanabe, Hiroyuki Sanada and Sandra Oh. All of which were huge inspirations to her, according to Comic Book Resources.

“Thank you so much to all of the fans who made this award possible because you visited IMDb to learn more about my work and some of the incredible projects I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of – this is very special to me,” Fukuhara said in her acceptance speech. “I’m also thrilled to be receiving this award as part of Identity Fest, which helps raise awareness for so many important organizations supporting artists in the API community.”

Afterward, Fukuhara spoke about her role as Katana in Suicide Squad, her first-ever IMDb credit.

“I learned a lot from being on set there,” Fukuhara said. “Watching Will Smith be hilarious, and his treatment of his fellow actors as well as crew members was inspiring.”

According to Market Screener, The Boys landed the coveted spot as IMDb’s Most Popular TV show of 2020. Season three of the Prime Video original series is currently filming with no set release date just yet.
