A video surfaced Saturday of a heartwarming and touching wedding day tribute a bride gave her mom fighting cancer.
20-year-old Jony Lee and her husband Alistair have known each other since the age of 5. However, the childhood friendship didn’t turn to romance until three years ago when the couple started dating, reported the New Zealand Herald.
Doctors diagnosed Jony’s mother, Luna Macapagal, with ovarian cancer two years ago.
The couple knew in their hearts they would someday get married, so Alistair asked Luna for permission and she gave her blessing.
Yet in her mind, she wondered if she would live to see her daughter walk down the aisle.
The couple made sure that happened by rushing to pull together the wedding and got married one month after Alistair proposed to Jony.
That wasn’t the only gift they gave mom. Instead of the traditional Filipino money dance on the wedding day, the couple shave their heads in solidarity with their mom.
They said any money given to the couple would be donated.
You can watch the moving tribute in the video below from The Daily Mail.
