Police release new video of suspect in late night beating

Police in Culver City, CA this week released a new video of a man they say beat an Asian American woman without provocation.

As AsAmNews previously reported, authorities say the man walked up to the woman and asked for a cigarette. Fearing for her safety, she declined and tried to walk away.

That’s when police say he came up from behind, screamed a racial slur and hit her on the right side of the head with an unknown object. She violently fell to the ground and he ran away.

The man is described as White, about 35 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches, heavy-set with light hair. He had a full beard, wore an olive green T-shirt with a white T-shirt showing underneath, long dark shorts and dark shoes.

The victim is expected to fully recover.

Police now have this video below of the suspect at a convenience store shortly after the beating.

Anyone with information is asked to call the detective division at the Culver City Police Department at 310-253-6300.
