Collin Morikawa’s short birdie putt on 17th guaranteed the U.S. lopsided victory over Europe for the Ryder Cup.
The tap sealed a half point for the Cal grad and Olympian, clinching the victory for Team USA, reported the New York Post.
According to the Guardian, Morikawa came within three feet of the cup with a long iron on the 17th.
Team USA went into the final day with an 11-5 lead and they didn’t let up, dominating the final day at Whistling Straits.
The Guardian called it a “trouncing for the ages.”
It was only the fourth U.S. victory in the Cup in the last 13 tries.
Morikawa can now add the Ryder Cup to his five tour wins.
