“Grey’s Anatomy” has given Lynn Chen a recurring role as Dr. Michelle Lin, the new head of plastic surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Variety reports.
Dr. Lin appeared as a guest actor during season 18 of the show, EW reports. She was brought in to replace Dr. Jackson Avery, the former head of plastic surgery. Dr. Lin initially turned down the job offer because she felt the residents did not meet the level. After reassurance from Dr. Webber, she accepted the job.
Chen has had a recurring role on “Shameless.” She guest starred on epsidoes of “The Affair” and “Big Mouth.”
Chen tweeted about her role, joking that no one should ask her for plastic surgery advice.
