In an interview with Variety, Sandra Oh revealed that she does not believe Netflix will renew her new comedy-drama “The Chair.”
“No one’s called me, so I’m guessing that’s not happening,” she said in the interview. “I would have loved it, because I just thought that there was so much material there to potentially explore. Because the setting and the characters were established… I’m just happy that it happened, it was a great experience. But I am sad that it’s over.”
“The Chair” follows the life of Dr Ji-Yoon Kim, the first woman of color to be made head of the English Department. Oh has received a Screen Actors Guild nomination for playing Kim, NBC News reports.
The show has received favorable reviews. It has an 86 percent certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.2 rating on IMBD.
Netflix has not made any announcement regarding the chair. Fans of the show want another season.
