Peacock announced the development of a new series called The Islands, a Hawaii crime drama series set in the 1960s.
Kaz and Ryan Firpo, who wrote Marvel’s The Eternals, will executive produce and write the newly developing series, according to Deadline. Fast & Furious director Justin Lin will executive produce and direct with his production partner Andrew Schneider.
The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun is also set to executively produce, according to The Playlist. However, Yeun will not act in this crime series.
The upcoming show The Islands is inspired by true events, Yahoo Entertainment reports. The show will explore American Imperialism, the fall of a kingdom, and shifts in a way of life.
The crime series comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group; Perfect Storm Entertainment; Lin’s Perfect Storm Entertainment; and Yeun’s Universal Remote.
