Filmmaker Karyn Kusama’s new Dracula film Mina Harker has been scrapped a month before production was set to begin.
The movie was a collaboration between Blumhouse and Miramax. Kusama was set to direct the movie. Sources have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Miramax has pulled out of the project.
Mina Harker would have followed the story of Mina Harker, who is the main female character in the original tale, Deadline reports. The film would have been set in modern-day Los Angeles.
Kusama and Blumhouse have not yet spoken about the situation. According to Playlist, it is unclear whether Blumhouse will attempt to bring the movie to another studio.
