Trailer for Jeremy Lin Documentary Released

A new documentary will examine the cultural impact Jeremy Lin had at the NBA.

38 at the Garden is set to debut at the Tribeca film festival in June, according to Bleacher Report. The documentary, directed by Frank Chin, will focus on how Lin shattered Asian American stereotypes when he came onto the scene in 2012 with the New York Knicks.

“Making this film has been such a joy for me because Jeremy’s ‘Linsanity’ run is hands-down my favorite memory as an Asian American. To revisit that run today – during the worst time to be Asian American in recent memory – is much more important than a 10-year anniversary,” Chi said, according to Deadline. “I hope 38 AT THE GARDEN can remind us of what we can achieve at the highest level despite what everyone else thinks is impossible. I hope it can also answer questions about why anti-Asian violence and stereotypes exist and humanize the Asian American experience for everyone who takes the time to watch.”

Lin promoted the movie in a tweet.

“My favorite game ever. Ten years from Linsanity, I understand more now what this game meant to people that look like me. And we still have so many barriers to break,” Lin wrote on Twitter.

The film will debut at Tribeca on June 12.
