Trailer drops for Jo Koy’s Easter Sunday

If the trailer is any indication, Jo Koy’s new feature-length film Easter Sunday will include a lot of Filipino humor.

The release from Universal Pictures stars a who’s who of Filipino Americans in Hollywood. Also appearing are Tia Carrera,Eva Noblezada, and Lou Diamond Philips.

The cast also includes Jimmy O Yang for good measure along with Brandon Wardell, Lydia Gaston, Asif Ali, Rodney To, Eugene Cordero, Jay Chandrasekhar, and Tiffany Haddish.

The script is by Ken Cheng and is directed by Jay Chandrasekhar.

Collider describes the film as a love letter to the Filipino community. As he does with his stand up comedy, Koy brings much of his homelife into the film.

Koy returns to this family for Easter Sunday when the reunion turns into a loot of arguing, screaming, laughing and loving.

It debuts August 5.
