Police in New York announced this morning an arrest in the murder of a father of three gunned down while making food deliveries.
CBS reports authorities arrested 51-year-old Glenn Hirsch late Wednesday and charged him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
He’s accused of killing 45-year-old Zhiwen Yan while he was on his scooter making deliveries in Forest Hills near Brooklyn.
Investigators say Hirsch had a lingering dispute with the Great Wall Restaurant where Yan worked.
The New York Post reports that police believe Hirsch spotted Yan and followed him before opening fire as Yan sat behind a stop light.
Late last year, Hirsch became upset about the amount of duck sauce he received, according to restaurant owner Kai Yang. The dispute escalated to the point that Hirsch allegedly slashed Yang’s tires and pointed a gun at him.
Members of the community have been leaving flowers at the site where Yan died.
“We’re all obviously a little shaken, he was someone that was very instrumental in the community. He was someone everyone knew and loved and he was kind of a symbol of community for the neighborhood,” Matthew Murray said to NBC New York.
