A city councilperson from Millbrae south of San Francisco spoke out Sunday one day after being struck with a concrete block, reports ABC7.
He spoke exclusively to anchor/reporter Dion Lim about walking overlooking the Pacific Ocean on Lands End in San Francisco with his wife and two children.
He says he nearly lost consciousness after being hit with a head with the concrete slab.
His daughter chased after the two men attempting to get a photo of the suspects with her cell phone as he said they continued to throw heavy objects at him.
Anders Fung believes something must be done to stop hate and senseless attacks.
“I want everyone to understand it’s important to speak out so that law enforcement understands it… that our policymakers understand how it impacts our community and how important it is for us to take action to stop these senseless violence and hate… it is important we bring these perps to justice so this doesn’t happen again.”
Doctors stapled a two-inch laceration and also treated a herniated disc.
