Henry Golding is set to star in the Netflix adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Persuasion. A trailer for the film was released today.
The film centers around Austen’s heroine: Anne Elliot (Dakota Johnson). When she was 19, Anne became engaged to an undistinguished navy captain named Frederick Wentworth. Her family persuaded her to give him up. Seven years later the two are reunited.
Golding will play Mr. William Elliot, Anne’s cousin and potential suitor.
The film will be available for streaming on July 15.
