A shooting in Chicago’s Chinatown has left one person dead and two people injured.
Around 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Chicago police responded to shots fired on the 2200 block of South Wentworth Avenue, WGN9 reports. When they arrived they found a 24-year-old woman who was shot in the torso.
The woman was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. A 42-year-old woman who had been shot in the hand was also transported to the hospital and is recovering, FOX 32 reports.
Police also located a 38-year-old man they say is one of the gunmen. The man was shot in the buttocks. He is currently in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, ABC 7 Chicago reports.
Police believe the man was exchanging gunfire with another man who fled the scene. They have not released any other details regarding the victims or the suspects.
