Actor Steven Yeun will join Robert Pattinson in Bong Joon Ho’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, according to Deadline.
The cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo and Toni Collette.
Bong’s new film, which does not have a title yet, will be based on Edward Ashton’s novel, Mickey7. The novel follows Mickey7, a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize Niflheim. Hollywood Reporter reports that whenever there’s a mission that’s too dangerous, Mickey7 is the one they turn to.
The novel was published in February by St. Martin, a Macmillan imprint.
Deadline reports this is Bong’s first project since his hit movie Parasite shattered box records in 2019. He notably won an Oscar for Best Picture and was honored with the Cannes Palme d’Or.
Yeun, who acted in Bong’s film Okja, has a few projects on the rise. He will feature in Jordan Peele’s upcoming project, Nope starring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer, which comes to theaters on July 22.
The South Korean-born actor will also star opposite Ali Wong in a Netflix and A24 series titled Beef.
