Police in Fiji accused a Memphis man of killing his new wife while on their honeymoon together on the South Pacific island, reports Fiji Village.
Bradley Robert Dawson made an appearance in Fiji court to face charges in the murder of his wife, Christi Chen Dawson.
Authorities discovered the body on July 9.
According to Fox 13, the husband is being held without bail. She worked as a pharmacist in the Memphis area and graduated from the University of Tennessee.
The suspect worked as an IT professional at Youth Villages, a non-profit which serves at-risk youth.
“He has been suspended pending further information. It is our understanding Ms. Chen was his wife, and our condolences go out to her family,” Youth Villages released in a statement to FOX13.
The killing happened on an island resort. One neighbor described Chen of being excited about her upcoming honeymoon on an island. Little is known about how Chen died or what the motive might be.
Dawson’s attorney says his client is innocent.
