It was a Jimmy Kimmel first. The late night host took a day off and Simu Liu not only guest hosted, he interviewed another Asian star, Jimmy O. Yang.
The comedian appeared to promote his new Netflix movie, Me Time, with Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg.
Before they got into the movie, Yang boasted about “taking over,” celebrating how an Asian host is interviewing an Asian guest for the first time on Jimmy Kimmel.
They marked the occasion by enjoying a few helpings of dim sum.
“This is legit,” said Yang.
They had ha gow, cha siu bow and even chicken feet.
Yang later told the story about why he banned his father from any movie premiers, joking his father “broke the law.”

It was chicken’s feet…not pig’s feet!
Yeah, we corrected it shortly after posting. Thank you.
This isn’t the first instance though. Lily Singh interviewed Mindy Kaling on her show back in 2020 or so. They were at least before this one, if not the first.
