The NBA’s general managers named Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra as the top NBA coach in an annual survey.
According to the NBA, the general managers responded to 50 questions about the best teams, coaches, players and offseason deals. The survey found that 52% of the league’s general managers felt that Erik Spoelstra was the best head coach in the NBA. Steve Kerr came in second place with 22%.
Spoelstra coached the Heat to the No. 1 in the Eastern Conference during the 2021/22 season. Sports Illustrated reports led the Heat to consecutive NBA championships in 2012 and 2013.
According to Bleacher Report, this is the third straight year Spoelstra has been named the best head coach in the GM survey. During the 2019/20 season, he came second to San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich.
