Michelle Yeoh is TIME’s Icon of the Year

TIME Magazine has named Michelle Yeoh as its 2022 Icon of the Year.

The Everything Everywhere All At Once star has been in the industry for nearly four decades. She has appeared in films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Crazy Rich Asians.

Yeoh has broken barriers for other Asian actors and actresses. Fans are happy she is receiving her laurels, and critics believe she could win Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.

“I’ve thought about it,” Yeoh said in her interview with TIME. “And not just me—I feel like my full Asian community has thought about it. They come up to me and they say, ‘You’re doing it for us.’”
